Purnam Burelu(Purnalu)

Purnam Burelu is a traditional sweet prepared especially during festival times....

Ingredients:

  1. Urad Dal                     -1 cup
  2. Rice                             -2 cups
  3. Chana Dal                   -1 cup
  4. Jaggery                        -1 cup
  5. Cardamom powder     -1/4 tea spoon
  6. Salt                             -1/4 tea spoon
  7. Oil                              - for frying  

Preparation:


1.Soak Urad dal and rice together for about 4hours and grind it as thick dough(as dosa dough) and ferment it for about 8 hours.
2.Cook Chana dal for about 3/4 softness and add grated jaggery and cardamom powder stirr well till it is soft and thick.
3.Cool down the Chana dal mix and make it as a round balls.

4.Add some salt in the fermented dough and make it as thick dosa dough(don't add too much water).
5.Heat the oil for deep frying and dip the sweet chana dal balls in the dough and fry it in the oil till golden brown color.(be careful while frying, stuffing mix may come out and spill in  the oil,for this, dough  must be in the right consistency)
6.Hot purnalu can be served with hot ghee by making hole in the middle if you are not calorie conscious.

Grilled Salmon Fillets



Ingredients:
Salmon Fillets                 -  4
Oil                                  -  2 Tea spoons  (Go for Olive Oil)
Lemon Juice                    - 1 Lemon
Salt                                 -  As Needed
Pepper                            -  As per the Taste
Ginger & Garlic Paste          - 1 Tea Spoon
Turmeric                          -  A Pinch

Preparation:

  1. Mix Salt, Pepper, Lemon Juice, Ginger & Garlic Paste in a bowl and keep a side.
  2. Clean Salmon fillets and apply the mix what we prepared.
  3. After applying the paste, marinate the fish for 15 to 30 mins.
  4. After marination, Grill the fillets on a normal or grilled pan both sides with little oil till it is cooked fully.
  5. Serve Hot and yummy fillets on top of the lettuce.

Green Peas and Lima Beans soup

Green peas and Lima beans soup is high in protein and good for those who are in diet.

INGREDIENTS:

Green peas     1 cup
Lima beans    1/2 cup
Onion            1 cup chopped
Garlic            2 pods sliced
Butter            1 table spoon
Pepper          1 tea spoon
Salt                 as required

PREPARATION:


Boil frozen green peas and lima beans together for 2 minutes.
Blend them as a paste along with the water.
Take one pan and heat the butter and fry onion ,garlic till golden brown.  
Then add the peas paste and  water if required and boil for about 5 minutes.
Lastly add salt and pepper according to the taste and serve.

Chicken/Vegetable Thai Stir fry


Simple procedure to Cook Thai Stir Fry Rice in combination of Vegetables/Chicken. 
Ingredients:
Rice  -  1  Cup 
Chicken Breast      -  1   (Cut in to small pieces)
Onion                    -  1  (Cut in to small pieces)
Green Bell Pepper  -  1  (Cut in to small pieces)
Broccoli                -   1  Small Flower
Snap Beans          -   1  Packet (Frozen)
Carrot                   -   1  (Big One)
Chicken Broth       -   1  Small Can(optional) To Cook Rice
Ginger                  -   1  Inch Piece(cut into small pieces)
Garlic                   -   2  to  3 chopped
Soy Sauce           -   1  Tablespoon
Corn Flour            -   1  Spoon
Chillies                -    5
Sliced Almonds    -    2 Spoons
Salt                     -    As per your Taste
Black Pepper powder   -   1/4 spoon
Oil                       -    2 tablespoons


Preparation:

  1. First cook 1 cup of rice in 2 cups of chicken broth along with sliced almonds and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan then add ginger and garlic.Fry till golden brown then add chicken pieces.
  3. Fry the chicken till tender,then add all the vegetables one by one except broccoli.
  4. Saute all the vegetables till soft,then add broccoli.(Broccoli tastes good if it is raw)
  5. Add soy sauce and mix corn flour with left over broth and pour on vegetables.
  6. Fry it for a minute,then add salt and pepper as per the taste.
  7. Spread Rice on a plate and serve with vegetables on the top and enjoy.
    Note:
    (Chicken can be replaced with shrimp and plain vegetables.)
